So, as I mentioned in the last post, my girls and I got to participate in two separate Valentine's-themed events recently: a
girls-only tea party that I featured last post, and the subject of today's post - one of our homeschool outreaches.
Our homeschool group works hard to be active in our community - not only to do fun things, but also to give back in any ways we can. One of the ways we have found to give back is to spend time with some of the seniors that gather at a local community center.
This year our fearless leaders decided to dive right in with a board game day themed around Valentine's Day. We made Valentine's cards for each of the seniors who came, and then the kids rotated in playing a variety of games with them. It was SO. MUCH. FUN. Both of our girls had a blast - even the shy one. I'd say the feeling was mutual among everyone who participated! I really hope we do it again!
Had to take a group shot of all of the lovely seniors and the kiddos who jumped in to play games with them. So fun! And they weren't afraid to get a little silly at the end.
Until next time,
-Kristen...
